Janice Ellen Ballard

 
 

Janice Ellen (Schultz) Ballard, Marshfield, was born July 7, 1937, to Lester Orville Benjamin and Dorothy Bertha (Dawursk) Schultz in Hillsboro, Wisconsin. She departed this life September 4, 2025, in Webco Manor at the age of 88 years.

On September 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Ballard.  He preceded her in death on July 21, 2025, after sixty-eight years of marriage.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three children, Scott and Nita Ballard, Tim and Lori Ballard, Cindy and Brian Templeton; eleven grandchildren, Ryan Ballard, Justin Ballard, Brooke Creson, Rory Ballard, Brittney Null, Tyler Templeton, Brennan Templeton, Shalee Johnson, Cassandra Ballard-Killian, Henry Ballard, and Steven Ballard; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Leslie Keith “Skip” and Sandy Schultz.

She was a dairy farmer for many years and loved life on the farm.  She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Janice loved to ride horses and showing Missouri Fox Trotters.  She and Jerry enjoyed traveling across the United States with Skip and Sandy in their RV and also enjoyed her time spent fishing in Canada.  She was an avid artist and loved spending time flower gardening.

Graveside services will be Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the I.W. Rader Lutheran Cemetery, 1.3 miles east of Marshfield, toward Niangua, on State Highway CC, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
