William "Bill" Ward

William (Bill) Ward, son of Charles Lee Ward Sr., and Dora Ann (Evans) Ward, was born March 30, 1927, along with his twin sister Wilma, Marshfield, Mo. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones on April 23, 2018 in the Marshfield Care Center, Marshfield, Mo at the age of 91.

                Bill grew up in Marshfield with a total of 26 siblings (8 immediate and 19 step children) which included a second set of twins, Alene Thompson and Bud Ward. Bill’s twin, Wilma, ventured out of Marshfield at an early age moving to the California area where she married and raised her family; passing away on December 24, 2017. Their most recent visit together was in August of 2016 for the annual Ward Reunion held in Marshfield. Bill was loved by all and a friend to many within his community. He was a hard-working, fun loving, gentle giant of a man always caring and giving to those in greater need than him. He was well known in the community as the very best accomplished concrete mason and a passionate gardener. Bill’s high spirited personality served him well everywhere he went. He especially enjoyed time with his family, serving and fellowship with the Marshfield Senior Center colleagues and their extended families.

                He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife Juanita Marie (Speaks) Ward of 58 years, 2 Brothers and 3 Sisters; George and Bud Ward, Marshfield, Wilma Riza, California, Mildred Gilbert, Connecticut and Lola Mae Nunn, Niangua. A granddaughter, Gail Marie Ward-Bel, Marshfield.

                Survivors include: Children and spouses; Paula and HG Bel, Mary Ann and Richard Carter, Sharon and Wayne Kays, Billy and Michelle Ward all of Marshfield and Darlena Calton of Springfield. Grandchildren and spouses; Cinnomon and Mark Reed, Heath and Marcie Bel, Jamie and Tammy Carter, Jason and Heather Carter, Jessica and Alessandro Scarabello, Melissa Kays, Amber and Jason Dinwiddie, Lesley and Josh Brown, Sheyann and Dakota Bohannon, Bayleigh Ward. Great Grandchildren; Blake Bel, Zachary and Rinnie Reed, Whitley Reed, Jaidyn Bel, Haylon Bel, Ethan Bel, Austin Bel, Blake and Morgan Brandell, Tanner Brandell, Jailey Carter, Reed Carter, Jenna Carter, Josie Carter, Lexi Day, Ulisse Scarabello, Iside Scarabello, Lillie Dinwiddie, Jace Dinwiddie, Mason Brown, Wyatt Bohannon. Great -Great Granddaughter Scout Reed. A life time of special relatives and friends.

                The family would like to thank the community for the outpouring of kindness, the staff at Marshfield Care and Mercy Hospice for their love and support.

                The visitation and service will be held at Fraker Funeral Home, 1131 State Hwy A, Marshfield, Mo 65706. Visitation, on Friday, April 27th, 6pm-7pm, and funeral service on Saturday, April 28th, 10:00am with the Reverend Tony Combs officiating. A grave side service will be held at Marshfield Cemetery immediately following the ceremony service. Bill’s family will gather for a reception at the Marshfield Senior Center, 427 W. Washington, Marshfield, Mo 65706 celebrating his 91 years of life. Flowers and condolences can be sent to Fraker Funeral Home.
