Lonnie L. Clinton
Lonnie L. Clinton of Niangua, Missouri, was born June 3, 1943, at his family home in Douglas County, Missouri, to Roy and Edna (Wake) Clinton. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family August 30, 2025, at 3:21 p.m., at the age of 82 years.
Lonnie’s life was a testament to hard work, integrity, and love for the land and those around him. Lonnie was a committed beef farmer; he knew the needs of his cattle with a glance, sensing when they were content, or when one required special attention. When he wasn’t tending to the cattle you could find him in the hay fields.
In addition to his life on the farm, Lonnie was a very talented mechanic. He was the go-to person for neighbors, friends, and family, whenever a tractor stalled, a pickup refused to start, or a baler needed a new belt. Lonnie’s hands were skilled and callused with years of hard work.
He treasured the time he spent with his family riding horses and going camping. He enjoyed the memories shared and passing down his knowledge of horsemanship to his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Christine (Jones) Clinton of the home; three daughters, Dineen Snow (Kelly), Dianna Clifton (Mark), Regina Gesell (Michael); five grandchildren, Nicole Johnson (Armando), Dusty Clifton (Likayla), Coltin Clifton (Alana), Riley Kaper (Brooke), Cheyenne Hildebrand (Seth); two great-grandchildren, Montana “Peanut” Hildebrand, Elena Clifton; one brother, Kirby Clinton; one sister, Audie Wilkins; several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, Missouri.
A family burial will follow in Little Zion Cemetery, Willow Springs, Missouri.
