Roy David Hammers

Roy David Hammers, Marshfield, was born on June 11, 1948, in Springfield, MO, to Melvin Grant Hammers and Julie Marie (Johnston) Hammers. He departed this life on January 7, 2026, in his home at the age of 77.

Roy built houses. He worked at McBee Binders for over 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed working on and restoring old cars including, but not limited to, Model A’s and Model T’s. He loved taking the golf cart out and giving Bandit the dog rides around the block.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond Hammers, Ralph Hammers and Robert Hammers; and one sister, Barbara Hammers.

Roy is survived by his best friend and companion, Betty Hammers of Marshfield; three children, Josh Hammers and Gwennan of Marshfield, Susie Freeman and Jeremy of Ash Grove, and David Hammers and Paula of Ash Grove; his sister, Mary Murray of Springfield; and seven grandchildren.

Cremation is entrusted to the care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. No services are planned at this time.
