Deborah Kay "Debbie" McAtee

 
 

Deborah Kay “Debbie” McAtee, age 74, of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025.  She was born July 20, 1951, in Independence, Missouri, a daughter of Raymond C. and Virginia (Bailey) Brown.

On June 15, 1974, in Independence, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Christopher Robert McAtee.  Together they shared the past fifty-one years of marriage.

Debbie graduated from Truman High School in Independence, Missouri and attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa where she was a cheerleader at both schools.   She and Chris made their home in Independence, Missouri and Marshfield, Missouri.  She worked for the Kansas City Police Department.  She later worked for Venture and Best Buy in Springfield doing loss prevention.  She retired from Home Depot as a District Manager.  In her spare time, she enjoyed doing furniture upholstery.  She loved horses and her two dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Chris McAtee of the home; three children, Nathan McAtee and wife Melissa, Jeremy McAtee and wife Rebecca and Ginni Gustafson and husband Erik; seven grandchildren, Ally, Chandler, Carly, Corbin, Elisabeth, Austin and Gavin; a sister, Teri Estle and husband Mike and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Baker.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
