Ruth Alma Lawson
Ruth Alma (French) Lawson was born February 25, 1932 in Labadie, MO, to Benjamin and Alpha (Martin) French. She departed this life on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in her home near Marshfield at the age of 86.
Ruth was married to Clifford Lawson for almost 67 years, after dating for five years. He was her best friend and husband, her rock who was always supporting and encouraging her, the last few years always there helping to care for her during her hardest days. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Ruth loved gardening, canning, and fishing. She was a member of Crossroads Evangelical Church, where she helped with vacation Bible school, and all church functions. As long as she was able, she was at church every Sunday and Wednesday night. She loved sewing, making clothes and quilts for her kids and grandkids. Ruth worked as cook for Marshfield Schools for twenty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joyce Jameson; granddaughter, Stephani Jameson; six brothers, Carl, Norman, Tim, Roy, Murl and James; and two sisters, Ruby Helton and Virginia French.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Clifford Lawson; son Randy Lawson and his wife, Sandy, Marshfield; three daughters, Joan Rowland and her husband, Arthur, Marshfield, Kerri Hanson and her husband, Jim, Marshfield, and Kim Davis and her husband, Joey, Marshfield; her grandchildren, Mandy Williams, Amy Troyer, Gail Gritts, Kate Hastings, Dale Rowland, Kelly Greenwood, Ashley Lawson Steele, Erica Russell, Bethany Lawson, Lacey Cantrell, Chelsi Hoffman, Garrett Fletchall, Gabe Fletchall, Gavin Fletchall, Coy Davis, and Hayden Davis; great-grandchildren, Bailey Alexander, Clara Troyer, Lilly Troyer, Sally Gritts, Chad Gritts, Greg Gritts, Carrie Gritts, T.J. Gritts, Emily Pittman, Doug Jackson, Courtney Lampert, Justin Greenwood, Gracie Steele, Josh Steele, Janice Steele, Hunter Steele, Leah Russell, Cash Cantrell, Presley Cantrell, Judd Cantrell, Mason Fletchall, and Talyn Hoffman; great-great-grandchildren, Braedon Alexander, Cole Linder, Ethan Pittman, Taylor Pittman, Mason Lampert, Emma Lampert, Ben Gritts, Gabriella Gritts, Lucy Sheard, Jayden Gritts, Jolee Gritts, M.J. Gritts, Takota Gritts, Bentley Gritts, Sonny Askins, Karina Askins, Titus Askins, Talli Grits, and Kyah Gritts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, with interment following in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 in the funeral home.
