Mary Lou Carpenter

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mary Lou (Gardner) Carpenter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary Lou passed away peacefully on May 23rd 2025 at the age of 89 in Town and Country, MO. Born in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 16th 1935, she was a loving and devoted presence in the lives of her family and friends.

Mary Lou grew up in Seymour, Missouri where she met her husband Lloyd when they were children. Mary Lou and Lloyd later moved to St. Louis Missouri where they raised their children and lived until their passing. She enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family and bragging about her grandchildren. Mary Lou also endured four sarcastic children, moss encounters on float trips, un-airconditioned camping, and stray water-gun fire.

She is survived by her loving children Michael (Guiann) Carpenter, Mark (Pamela) Carpenter, Karen (Thomas) Migneron and Brian (Stephanie) Carpenter; grandchildren, Cristen (Parks) Grooms, Guy Parks, Matthew Migneron, Ryan Migneron, Josh Plumley, Jessica Carpenter, Jamilyn Carpenter, Anna Carpenter, Clara Carpenter; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Lloyd Wayne Carpenter, and parents Marjorie Ann (Johnson) Gardner and Pearl Monroe Gardner.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will follow in Old Liberty Cemetery, Seymour.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday in the funeral home.
