Janet Fisher
Janet Lucille Fisher departed this life on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Marshfield Care Center at the age of 79. She was born on November 2, 1946, to Paul and Esther Stewart Fisher in Claremore, Oklahoma.
Janet was baptized into Christ at an early age and continued to be a devoted Christian until death. She was a member of the Marshfield church of Christ. God was the focal point of her existence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
Janet is survived by her brother, Paul Fisher and his wife, Phyllis, of Marshfield, MO, a niece, Jennifer King and her husband, Jarrod, of Marshfield, MO, a nephew, Jeff Fisher and his wife, Stephanie of Marshfield, MO. She also leaves behind two great nephews, Jonah King and Jensen King of Marshfield, MO, two great nieces, Julianne Moore and her husband, Sam, of Springfield, MO, and Miley Fisher of Springfield, MO. Also, one great great niece, Lydia Moore, daughter of Julianne and Sam Moore. She was looking forward to a great great nephew, in October.
Janet lived in Tulsa, OK most of her life until she retired. She then moved to Marshfield to be near her family.
After graduating from Oklahoma Christian College, she began her career as a lifelong educator, teaching 5 years in Utica, KS, and 30+ years in Coweta, OK. After retiring from public school, she taught several years at OTC at the Springfield and Lebanon campuses. She sponsored several student tours to Washington, DC.
Janet enjoyed traveling, sports and collecting sports memorabilia, puzzles, and fishing. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with family.
She will be missed by her physical family, her spiritual family, and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 21, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Fraker Funeral Home, with Colin Lepley, minister of the Marshfield Church of Christ, presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. that day. Burial will be in the Marshfield Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford, MO.
