Joyce Steen
Elva Joyce Steen, daughter of Benjamin and Nora (Davenport) Sadler, was born June 5, 1934 in Oak Ridge, MO. She passed away 9:06 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 in her home west of Marshfield at the age of 91.
Joyce was well known to everyone as “Grandma”. She expressed that love by making sure everyone was well fed with their favorite meals.
She was famous for her cooking, she was also an intelligent, resourceful, hard working lady with the best sense of humor. There was nothing she couldn’t do or learn to do when she set her mind to it. She always made sure everyone around her felt safe, taken care of and loved. She was the heart of the family and her presence will be missed for many generations to come. We have comfort in knowing Joyce is in Heaven and reunited with those she’s missed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Steen; two sons, Michael Steen and Richard Steen; one daughter, Patricia Clair and her husband Ike; son-in-law, Darrell Plemmons; one granddaughter, Sherry Clair; and 11 siblings.
Survivors include her daughter Debra Plemmons; her son Kenny Steen; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and was proud to have welcomed her first great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 in Niangua Cemetery, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in the funeral home.
