Ervil Glen Kropf
Ervil Glen Kropf, husband of Carol Elizabeth (Kropf) Kropf, deceased, peacefully passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 15 days, at his home near Halfway, MO, while taking a nap in his chair.
He was born on March 29, 1945, to Allen and Viola (Shrock) Kropf, at Henry County, Illinois. He accepted Christ in his youth, and was baptized on his confession of faith. He was a faithful member of the Pleasant View A.M. Church at Buffalo, MO, at the time of his death.
On September 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Carol Elizabeth Kropf at Tampico, Illinois, sharing the joys and sorrows of life together for over 58 years. Three months after their marriage they moved from the Tampico area to Halfway, MO.
This union was blessed with 7 children; 3 sons and 4 daughters. Betty, wife of Sanford Headings, Berryville, AR; Gary, and wife Sharon, Halfway, MO; Michael, and wife Karen, El Dorado Springs, MO; Arnold, and wife Marjorie, Halfway, MO; Charity, wife of Delbert Blosser, Calhoun, MO; Clarissa, wife of Richard Kropf, Buffalo, MO; and Eunice, wife of Mervin Blosser, Deepwater, MO.
On March 16, 2024, he became partially paralyzed from the chest down caused by a tumor pressing on his spine. He was taken to the hospital for further testing. The following morning, he had emergency back surgery, and was diagnosed with cancer. He then spent around 6 weeks in rehab. He patiently and courageously battled cancer for over 2 years.
Surviving besides his children are 55 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Kropf, and Anna Kropf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Carol, 2 great grandsons, Javin Kropf and Skyler Blosser; 1 sister, Beulah; brothers-in-law, Wilmer Hostetler and Ira Headings; and brothers, Wayne and Charles.
Grandpa would often relate happenings of by-gone days, which was of interest to family and friends. After Grandma’s passing, he made his rounds to his children’s homes. He really enjoyed running errands for the sawmill.
He had a deep concern for the spiritual well-being of his family and the church. It was a blessing to share in the caregiving of our dear Pop and Grandpa. Even though a chapter now closes, with both of our parents gone on, we remember and treasure what they taught us; and look forward in hope, to a glad reunion in heaven some day.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks for the prayers, sympathy, and help during this time of sorrow.
All are invited to the school hall for the evening meal after the service.
