Norma "Ruth" Kurek

Norma Ruth Kurek passed from this life on May 18, 2025 at Webco Manor in Marshfield, Missouri. She was born December 23, 1941 to William M. Folsom and Linda C. (Cannon) Folsom in Quitman, Georgia. She married David Kurek on January 23, 1959 in Bethesda, Maryland. They were married 57 years until his death on January 4, 2017.

Norma Ruth leaves behind 4 daughters and 2 sons; Linda (Doug) Climer, Karen (Dewayne) Coates, Tony Kurek, Carole Jay, Christine (Michael) Linker, and William Kurek. She was proud to have 17 grandchildren; Michael, Shannon, Sarah, Andrea, Ricky, Corey, Hannah, Alana, Aaron, Amanda, Stephanie, Dustin, Ashley, Myranda, Samantha, Makayla, and Rosemarie. She had 30 great-grandchildren.

Norma Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her dear husband; an infant daughter, JoAnn; 3 sisters, Eleanor Folsom, Sarah Seaman, and Christine Jeans; a brother, William Folsom.

Norma Ruth worked as a PCA at Cox Hospital for many years. She loved spending time at the lake boating and fishing with her family. You could find her crocheting blankets for everyone, and she’d make them comically large sometimes. She made us all laugh with silly comments and stories. Her family won’t ever forget the story of the Christmas ‘J’. She remembered everyone’s birthdates without hesitation, and her dogs were precious to her. She was always smiling, and had a big heart. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will have a private memorial in her honor.
