Chief Mstr. Sgt. Roy Clifton Phillips, Jr., Ret., of Marshfield, was born on July 22, 1943 in Lauderdale County, AL, to Roy Clifton Phillips, Sr. and Hazel (Putnam) Phillips. He departed this life on April 22, 2026, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 82.

Roy had retired from the United States Postal Service and the United States Air Force. He was an active member of the Webster County Veterans Memorial Team and American Legion Post 142. He was a life time member of the Church of Christ. He loved to lead people to Christ as an Elder, Deacon and teacher. He was faithful member of the Bellevue Church in Nebraska and until his death at the Marshfield Church. This world is a little darker but heaven is much brighter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law Charles Lamar; and his sister-in-law Brenda Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Judith (McGoon) Phillips, of the home; his son, Cliff Phillips and wife Pam of Council Bluffs, IA; one granddaughter, Kristin Phillips of Lincoln, NE; his sister, Joyce Lamar of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Ron Phillips of Richland, WA, and Carroll Phillips and wife Amy of Richland, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Visitation will be before services from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment with full military honors will follow in Marshfield Cemetery.
