Steven Gene Rear

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Gene Rear, born on September 2, 1961. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 7, 2025, at the age of 64.

Steven worked as a forklift mechanic at Associated Grocers for nearly 25 years, where his strong work ethic, and reliability earned the respect of all who knew him.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, William Howard Lee and Anita Hartley Rear, as well as one brother Howard William Lee Jr.

Steven is survived by his son Jacob Rear of Clever, brother Tim Rear of Battlefield, sisters Joyce Ince of Fordland and Janice Rear of Springfield along with nieces and nephews.

At the age of 11, Steven accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, alongside his brother Jr. while attending services with their family at Northview Tabernacle. He served as Pastor at Westport Baptist Church in Springfield, MO for 10 years. His faith remained the cornerstone of his life.

He was raised on the family farm in Marshfield, MO.  Where his hard work began milking cows and tending the farm with his family. He was a lifetime resident of Webster County.

Steven found joy in the simple blessings of the outdoors-farming, gardening, hunting and tending to his bees. He also loved to cook and gather with friends and family, sharing good food, laughter, and heartfelt stories of his younger days.

Those who remember Steve will remember his kind heart, his sense of humor and the light he brought into every room. His presence, laughter and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.

Visitation will be before services Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home.

Interment will follow funeral services Saturday in Pleasant View Cemetery under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
