Thomas Dean Rippee

 
 

Thomas Dean Rippee, of Elkland, MO, was born October 16, 1947 to William “Bill” Rippee and Mayme (Moore) Huff in Lebanon, MO. He departed his life on April 29th, 2026, in Nixa, MO, at the age of 78.

 Tom was an assembly worker at Zenith for many years. Tom was joined in marriage to Linda Brown, one child was born of that union, Courtnie Michell Rippee (Glenn). Tom and Courtnie enjoyed traveling. Tom would put his camper shell on the truck and they would take off on an adventure. On the weekends you could find them at Nanny and Granny’s with the family hunting and having Granny’s big meals. 

In 2001 Tom was united in marriage to Jean Rippee. Tom and Jean loved living life on the farm in Elkland, MO. Where you would find one for 25 years you’d find the other.  Tom’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, farming and going to the casino with his bus family. In 2011 Courtnie gave birth to Tom’s grandson Colby Thomas Glenn. Tom enjoyed being a grandfather and taking Colby on trips to Texas. Tom was also known for playing the role of Santa. Colby loved telling everyone his PaPa was Santa.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents William “Bill” Rippee of Hartville, MO. Mayme (Moore) Huff of Springfield, MO. Jewell and Stanis Phillips of Phillipsburg, MO. George Ann Metcalf of Springfield, MO. Leta Martin of Nixa, MO.

He was survived by his wife Jean Rippee of Elkland, MO, his daughter Courtnie Glenn and Tyler Surface of Mansfield, MO, his brother, Mike Metcalf of Springfield, MO, his sister Robinette Dortch of Springfield, MO, sister and brother in law Joan and Randy Bass of Nixa, MO, his grandson Colby Thomas Glenn of Mansfield, MO, nieces Hannah Metcalf and Blake Schultz and son Finley, Riley Masterson and Jordan Dortch and children of Springfield, MO.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in Lonesome Hill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
