Merline Tag
Della Mae “Merline” Tag, Marshfield, was born on September 27, 1931, in Sandoval, TX, to Alfred and Amanda (Zieschang) Walther. She departed this life on December 8, 2025, in her home at the age of 94.
She was joined in marriage to Harvey Lee Tag, May 28, 1950, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorndale, Texas, with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage. To this union six children were born.
She grew up farming with her parents in the cotton fields of Texas and later with her husband. The family moved to Missouri in December 1969 where they continued farming, raising hogs, and later running a dairy farm. While farming, Merline also drove a school bus for the Marshfield School system in the early 70’s and later drove the OATS bus for over 13 years. She always had a large garden and canned many quarts of produce. She enjoyed and treasured the time she could spend with her children and grandchildren. She was baptized into the Kingdom of God and was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Marshfield, for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey Tag; two daughters, Susan Ziebarth and Deonne Bachmann; two sons-in-law, Rick Bachmann and Rick Finck; her daughter-in-law, Cherry Tag; her sister and brother-in-law, Goldie and George Roberts; her brother-in-law and wife Edwin and Frances Tag.
Merline is survived by her children, Ronny Tag, Richard Tag and wife Jennifer, Dwayne Tag and Naomi Finck; her sister Carol Wuensche and husband Freddie; her sister-in-law Erna Addy and husband Presley; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Merline Tag will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, Marshfield, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in I.W. Rader Cemetery (on CC Highway, Niangua.) Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church.
