Carol Sue Clair
Carol Sue Clair, Marshfield, was born September 3, 1944, to Richard and Allie (Linder) Dishman near Duncan, Missouri. She departed this life September 30, 2025, in her home at the age of 81 years.
Carol was a faithful follower of Christ and loved her family dearly. Always a hard worker and extremely sharp, she graduated from Marshfield High School in 1962 as her class Salutatorian. After high school, Carol worked at the Marshfield Steel Plant where she met Sherman Clair. They married in 1965 and enjoyed 53 years together until his death in 2019. Carol later worked at Shields Pharmacy in Marshfield. During her time at Shields, her sweet disposition and quality work led her to an offer and job in Citizen State Bank's loan department. For almost 40 years, she and Sherman successfully owned and operated Midwest Gates. Throughout her life, she was an active member of Temple Baptist Church and a longtime Sunday school teacher. Carol could often be found watching the St. Louis Cardinals' game, reading, enjoying southern gospel music, or cheering on her kids and grandkids. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, gardener, and friend. She never knew a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherman; three brothers, Max Dishman and Peggy, JR Dishman and Alverta, Charles Lee Dishman; her brothers-in-law, Bud Clair, Ike and Pat Clair, Dick and Louise Clair, and John Wingo.
She is survived by four children, Tresa Davis and Kirby of Marshfield, Marcy Fraker and Scott of Strafford, Troy Clair and Kelly of Marshfield, Brad Clair and Nikki of Marshfield; eight grandchildren, Lakin Fraker and Austin Vaughn of St. Louis, Lindy Aguiar and Eli of Centerton, Arkansas, Logan Fraker of Strafford, Isabella Davis of Marshfield, Abigail Davis of Marshfield, Allena Clair of Marshfield, Jackson Clair of Marshfield, Noah Clair of Marshfield; one sister, Mary Ann Hill and Wayne of Marshfield; her sisters-in-law, Pat Henderson and John of Niangua, Betty Wingo of Rogersville, Brenda Keeter of Hollister; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in Temple Baptist Church, Marshfield, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
Interment will follow funeral services Monday, October 6, 2025, in Marshfield Cemetery.
