John Hougardy, Sr.

John Hougardy, Sr. was born on April 1, 1946, in Wyoming to Pat and Viola Hougardy. He departed this life on September 28, 2025, in Cox South Hospital at the age of 79.

He was married to Debra Darlene Hayes and had three children in that union: John Hougardy, Jr. of Conway, Sandy Hall of Mayview, Bill Hougardy and Mike Hougardy of Lexington. John remarried Glenda Fay Phillips and had two children in this union: Shawn Kieth Hougardy and Timothy Shane Hougardy of Marshfield.

Preceding John in death were two sisters; Carol Williams of Napoleon and Audrey Failing of Lexington.

He is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John loved his family and was loved by his family. John loved going to the house of the Lord and worshipping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John enjoyed being on the lake either on the shore, out in a boat in the peaceful calm, wetting a hook or packing up and going to a campground to get away for awhile. John will be greatly missed on this side of death but we can take solace in knowing that he is in the presence of his savior now.

Funeral services for John Hougardy, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Visitation will be held before services from 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home.
